Organic Materials & Devices

Research Focus

The research of the OMD-group is focused on new innovative organic and hybrid materials for electronic and optoelectronic device applications in transistors, non-volatile memories, solar cells, sensors, and capacitors. The research follows an interdisciplinary approach, based on the understanding of chemical compounds on their molecular scale (chemistry), on investigations of their properties in formulations and after deposition, on the construction of functional devices (physics, engineering, and processing), and finally on the electrical characterization of devices (electrical engineering). The basic principles and methods of self-assembly, hierarchical structure formation, and interface control are of particular interest.
