Institute for Multiscale Simulation

Research Focus

The Institute for Multiscale Simulation focuses on the theoretical, experimental and numerical investigation of particle systems. This includes systems of physical particles such as granulates and nanoparticles as well as systems of quasi-particles for the simulation of complex fluids. The investigated systems cover a wide range of length and time scales and range from self-organized structures in nanosystems to large scale reactive flows. Our investigations concern problems of theoretical physics and experimental physics, but also serve the understanding of technical systems.
